A horticulturist (Plant Scientist) has noticed that his plants grow differently depending on which brand of fertilizer he has used. To determine which fertilizer is best, he set up an experiment by planting beans into five separate 5” pots. In the first pot we did not change anything, so it received no fertilizer. For the remaining 4 pots we changed the brand of fertilizer added. The plants were watered daily with the same amount of water and were exposed to the same amount of sunlight. After 2 weeks, the plants were measured, and the height of each plant was recorded. The results were organized in the graph below.
Analyze the graph and explain what conclusion(s) you can make about this experiment. Use specific data to support your answer. Be sure to include the terms independent variable, dependent variable, constants, and control in your answer.
