METHOD
Out of Order
1. To begin making the cake bases, whisk the salt, sugar and flour in a
large bowl.
2. Add the remaining cake ingredients and continue whisking until
the mixture is well blended.
3. Pour the mixture into the tins and bake for between 30 to 45
minutes. Mine always seem to take exactly 30m 30s, but that's in my
Japanese-made eco-stove!
4. Preheat your oven to 180°C and grease a pair of 25cm (10 inch)
cake tins.
5. When cooked, withdraw the the cakes from the oven. Allow them
to cool for around 900 seconds before extricating them from their
tins via the use of a bladed instrument, and then place the cake
bases onto a wire rack.
6. When the cake bases have fully cooled, place one on a plate and
ice it with the icing made from the ingredients in the list, before
placing the second on top and icing that too.
