Consider the following example. A member of a terrorist group detonates a bomb killing 20 people, all of whom belong to a different religion that the terrorist despises. This type of case:
(a) Presents an obvious problem for act utilitarianism, since that terrorist will presumably be really really happy about achieving his goal
(b) Is not problematic for any of the moral theories that we have considered.
(c) Presents a problem for Kantianism, since the terrorist's goal of killing people of the other sect Is one that would not be frustrated if everyone were to have, and act on, the goal of killing people of that sect.
(d) Presents a problem for any consequentialist view of ethics.
