Read the passage. How does the way cells are put together in skin and lung tissue help these tissues carry out their functions?

Passage:

Skin and lung tissue are both made of epithelial cells. Skin tissue includes several layers of cells. The layers of skin cells move to the top to replace skin cells that are worn away. Skin tissue blocks most substances and particles from entering the body.

Lungs are lined with tissue made of a single layer of flat cells. Oxygen and carbon dioxide pass through the lung tissue.
