HOLLY: The most popular teen at Southwestern High School.
MYSTERIOUS SHADOW: It resembles a cowboy and follows the teens wherever they go.
DAN: An obnoxious teen who is trouble's second name.
DAVID: A mysterious guide in the museum who helps Pete rescue HOLLY.
PEGGY: A teen who suffers from a short-term memory loss.
DAN's friends—one or more guys play DAN's friend but don't have any lines.
Stage Set: (A school bus on a field trip to an old western museum. A tire has just punctured. Only faces are seen through the windows. MYSTERIOUS SHADOW rests on the back of the bus, right behind PETE and TINA.)
TINA: (pokes Pete with her index finger) Why don't you go talk to him? He is right there. She is also right there. Ask either one of them. You will know.
PETE: Yeah, I could. I could ask him what he knows.
TINA: Well, he's not going to read your mind, come over here, give you a hi-five, and then tell you, "Hey Pete, guess what, I won't ask Holly out for prom." You think Holly will come over herself and ask you out? Come on.
PETE: Either she will go out with me or she won't.
TINA: Hey, if you don't ask Holly or Dan, you will never find out. Then you'll wonder who you should ask. Should I ask pretty Tina? Why not? She is real pretty! She likes me already. I mean, she always helps me out and stuff. Why shouldn't I just ask her?
PETE: Hush, will you?
TINA: Pete, I am not going to be your best friend forever, if you think I am not good looking enough.
PETE: (angrily) When did I ever say that?
TINA: Then, just take me to the prom.
