Think about something that you love to do (a sport, hobby, or activity). You will create a website to share this subject with your peers.

1. Brainstorm ideas for your website in the space below. Consider activities that you enjoy participating in.








2. Choose one of the activities you listed in Question 1. Create an outline of things you think of when you consider this activity.
3. Designers typically use storyboards to brainstorm how their websites will look. Describe two features of storyboards and how these features are beneficial to website design.
4. Describe two qualities that you would like your website to showcase and how you will highlight these qualities on your website.
Your Assignment, Part IINow that you’ve determined your website’s theme and how you will make it effective, you will choose specific design characteristics to include.
1. Consider the fonts you will use to present text on your website. Will you use one type of font throughout, or a variety of fonts? Will you apply different styles like bold and italic? Describe your font choice in two or three sentences
2. Write one sentence to describe how you plan to incorporate each of the following design elements in your website:
contrast
repetition
alignment
proximity
























3. Describe two choices you will make regarding the use of color for your website and briefly describe why you made these choices.













4. Describe two choices you will make regarding the use of graphics and animations for your website and briefly describe why you made these choices.













5. Create storyboards to layout out your website’s pages. These storyboards can be in the form of a wireframe, indicating where text, animation, images, and other graphics will be located on each page. Be sure to also note where you plan to include any navigation panels.

6. Using a free online website builder, such as Weebly, Wix or Wordpress or a trial version of Adobe Adobe Spark, begin to create your website. You will need to incorporate the following elements in order to receive full credit for this portion of the assignment.
Your website should include 5 to 10 web pages, including a homepage. Make sure you have created links from your homepage to the other pages on your site.
Use at least two different page layouts throughout your website that demonstrates your understanding of good web page design, including effective design techniques like the use of padding.
Use at least one color theme throughout your website that demonstrates your understanding of the color theory and color schemes, and how they apply to successful web design.
Include at least seven different graphics on your website. Use various resources for your graphics, and include at least one graphic from each of the following resources: scanner, digital camera, online graphics, clip art, and CD-ROM.
Include at least two animations on your website.
Use a specialized design software program, such as Adobe Photoshop, Gimp, or Adobe Animate CC Animation, to edit at least one graphic and to create at least one animation.
Include a downloadable form somewhere on your website. For instance, you might include a downloadable quiz that viewers can take.

7. Proofread your website. Check for spelling and grammar errors in the text. Look through each page to check for appropriate placement of images and graphics. Check that all the audio, video, and hyperlinks work.

8. Email your teacher a link to your website.

1. Click through at least two of your classmates’ websites and analyze their effectiveness. Use the checklist below to complete your analysis for each website:
