Read the passage. Viola: But if she cannot love you, sir? Duke: I cannot be so answered. Viola: But you must. Say that some lady--as perhaps there is--hath for your love as great a pang of heart as you have for Olivia. You cannot love her. You tell her so. Must she not, then, be answered? Which inference can be best supported using textual edivence from the passage? A) The Duke believes women are incapable of loving as deeply as men do. B) The Duke's emotional state makes it difficult for him to think logically. C) If you are presistent enough, you can win the love of just about anyone. D) Viola believes no women is Worthy of the Duke's affections. Can anyone help me with this ASAP please and thank you.

After reading over and over, I think the most logical answer seems to be B) The Duke's emotional state makes it difficult for him to think logically.

It seems like the Duke is highly in love with Olivia but she doesn't feel the same way. It seems like Viola is trying to talk some sense into him that she doesn't feel the same for him. I am not entirely sure but this seems to be the answer that stands out the most to me after a process of elimination.Β
