Two trains travel in opposite directions, one is northbound and one southbound, leaving Memphis at the same time. The northbound train travels 55mph and the southbound travels 45mph. In how many hours will the trains be 150 miles apart.

The trains are separating from each other at (55 + 45) = 100 mph, so will be 150 miles apart in (150 mi)/(100 mi/h) = 1.50 h.

The trains will be 150 miles apart in 1.5 hours.
