The leaders of the Czechoslovak reform movement of 1968 attempted to grant additional rights to the citizens  of this country.

The act was due to the need for the country to be democratic and also decentralized. The freedoms that the leaders of the reformation gave were the:

  • Removal of the restrictions on speech
  • limited restriction on the media
  • Limited restriction on travel

The reformations began through reformist Dubcek on January 5th 1968 and it continued till it was stopped in August.
