Craniosynostosis consists of the premature fusion of one or more cranial sutures, resulting in an abnormal form of the skull. They are characterized by a skull deformation with abnormalities of the face and often members. Children with this disease may also have varying degrees of developmental delay because of the deformation of the brain.
