x + y = 1200................equations(i)
0.8 x + 0.4 y =780..........equation (ii)

x = 1200 - y
0.8 (1200 - y) + 0.4 y = 780
960 - 0.8 y + 0.4 y = 780
-0.4 y = - 180
y = 225

x =1200 - y
x = 1200 - 225
x = 975

Answer = 975 people
