Dean's mac and cheese recipe calls for 10 packages of cheddar and 6 packages of monterey jack. Louis's mac and cheese recipe calls for 5 packages of cheddar and 3 packages of monterey jack. Whose recipe has a lower ratio of packages of cheddar to packages of monterey jack?

I'm only answering because I'm Dean and that's a crazy amount of cheese.

Anyway we're to compare 10:6 with 5:3

or the fractions

[tex]\dfrac{10}{6} \quad \quad \textrm{and} \quad \quad \dfrac{5}{3}[/tex]

Those fractions are of course equal as we can divide 10 and 6 each by two to get 5 and 3.

Dean's & Louis's recipes have the same cheddar to jack ratio.
