The odd thing about this quotation is that it seems to stand alone. It refers to nothing outside of itself. Or none I can find.
It sounds like a disease, something like a cancer which is metastasizing (that means it's going from one place to another. It doesn't leave the first place).
Whatever it is, it keeps you out of your comfortable life. The word cures brings us back to some kind of cancer. Some cures are no more than an opinion. They conform to different views of thought.
