Basically it wants you to add 3 and 8 from each other, what ever the answer to that part, you multiply the result by 9
Here this is what i meant
[tex] 3 + 8 = 11 \\ 11 ( 9) = 99 [/tex]
Or you could do this method too!
[tex] (3 +8) (9) \\ \\ 3 + 8 = 11 \\ 11(9) \\ = 99 [/tex]
They both give you the result of [tex] 99 [/tex]
So, I am assuming your expression would look like this: [tex] (3 + 8) * 9 [/tex]
