→ The distributive property is a property based on multyplication that is used to break down parethesis. In your case, you'll multiply 3 * y and 3 * 5 to obtain 3y + 15.

The commutative property is a property that states that the order of number is an operation can be changed, that the result won't change.
The associative property is a property that states that you can group numbers in different ways while still obtaining the same result.
