In his speech of June 28, 1787 in the Constitutional Convention, Franklins is making the case to build a united state with all the thirteen colonies. There had been long arguments of how to build the new states, where local interest prevailed over the attempt of building a single nation. They were failing in this political building as the builders of Babel had failed in their enterprise. It is the will of God to construct the new nation, and with their help they shall succeed. because the building of the United States would be the success of the building of a second Babel.
