Aunt Lucille is 15 years older than Shateria. Aunt Lucille is 2 years younger than twice Shanteria's age. How old are Aunt Lucille and Shanteria?

if l is lucille's age and s is shateria's age then:
[tex]l = s + 15[/tex]

and
[tex]l = (s \times 2) - 2 [/tex]
so that means that
[tex]s + 15 = 2 \times s - 2 \\ s - 2 \times s = - 15 - 2 \\ - s = - 17 \\ s = 17[/tex]
and if s=17 then l is:
[tex]l = s + 15 \\ l = 17 + 15 \\ l = 32[/tex]
