I = inside

So:

F= first
Take the first two terms of EACH problem in the parenthesis.
First terms: x and x
Multiply them.
X•X= x^2 (x squared, or to the power of 2)

O= outside
Now so the same to the "outside" terms.
"Outside" terms: x (first group) and 7 (second group)
Multiply them together to get: 7x

I= inside
"Inside" terms= 9 (first group) and x (second group)
9• x= 9x

Finally:
L= last
The last terms are: 9 and 7
9•7= 63

Now you got all your terms:
X^2, 7x, 9x, and 63

But wait!
Now you have to combine them!
Because both groups have a plus sign in the middle, your answers will be added together! :)
So:
X^2 + 7x + 9x + 63
Notice how 7x and 9x have an x at the end? Combine them! 7 and 9 are added, but the x remains the same!
7+9= 16 -----> 16x
So your final answer will be:
X^2 + 16x + 63
