Each leg of an isosceles triangle is 4 meters longer than the base. the perimeter of the triangle is 26 meters. find the lengths of the side.

In isosceles triangle ,

Let the base be x

Let the equal sides of isosceles triangle  be x+4

Perimeter means the sum of boundary

∴ [tex]Perimeter= x+x+4+x+4= 26\\3x+8=26\\3x=26-8\\3x=18\\x=\frac{18}{3}\\x=6 cm[/tex]

So, the equal sides will be [tex]x+4=6+4=10cm[/tex]

and the base = 6cm.
