During a snow day, Marissa noticed a truck spreading salt all over the road. After the truck went past Marissa's house, she put on a coat and stuff and went to the edge of the driveway to make an observation.

Apparently I need to help Marissa come up with an investigative question, and the answer is probably gong right over my head. Please, help.
