A population in the genetic equilibrium shows no change in the allelic frequencies and the distribution of the genotypes in a population. There are five necessities for a population to be in genetic equilibrium:

1. The population should be big.

2. There should be no mutations.

3. There should be no gene flow.

4. There should be no natural selection.

5. The mating of the members of the population should be random.
