Different kinds of substances have different properties. Compare and contrast the electrical properties of salts, metals, and acids.

Respuesta :

Answer:

Explained

Explanation:

Metals, bases and salts all are conductors of electricity and their conductivity depends upon various reasons. A strong base with more OH- ions will conduct more electricity. In case of salts, conductivity depends upon its solubility in the polar solvent. Higher the solubility, higher will be its conductivity. In case of metals the conductivity depends upon number of free electrons present in it. Higher the number of free electrons higher will be the conductivity.

The different substances, salts, metals, and acids are all conductors of electricity but the charge carriers  are different in metals compared to salts and acids.

In metals, the charge carriers are electrons while in salts and acids, the charge carriers are ions.

Metals are very good conductors of electricity. They are better conductors of electricity than salt and acid solutions.

A metal conducts electricity in the solid state but salts and acids only conduct electricity in solution.
