The 1920's in America was a decade of great economic growth, at least for the first part. Americans got used to owning cars, telephones, radios. Life in America was full with prosperity and carefree living. The industries of tobacco, textiles and furniture experienced a substantial growth. Farmers were leaving the rural areas to work on factories. In this decade, the returning soldiers from WWI wanted a better life from themselves, with the finer things for their families. However, by 1929, the dream was over. The market crashed and the economic boom was no more, and so the era known as the Great Depression began.
