Francine Prose thinks that American High Schools do not teach literary works the way they should. (1) She says that the choice of books is not related to the teen's world of today. (2) She defends that teens can’t relate to the stories anymore because schools do not teach them the stories, instead, they focus on the author’s life or the background of the book.
