In the story "The Cask of Amontillado," the author Edgar Allan Poe uses the first person narrative from Montresor's point of view, who is the person taking revenge and commiting a crime againt Fortunato. In the account, he describes in detail how he carries out the murder.
Had Poe told the story from the Fortunato's point of view, the reader would be shocked with the victim's horrorific emotions as he suffers a slow, terrible death. In fact, he is chained and buried alive by immurement.
