There’s High clouds which are: Cirrus, cirrostratus, cirrocumulus. These clouds are delicate wispy clouds that are located at altitudes above 20,000 feet and composed of ice and crystals.


Then there are middle clouds which are: Altostratus, altocumulus, and nimbostratus. These clouds are found between 6,000 to 20,000 feet above the ground. These are smooth grays clouds.



Finally there are low clouds which are: Stratus, cumulus, and stratocumulus. These clouds are based at 6,000 feet or lowers. These clouds are the cause for light rain, light snow, and freezing drizzling during the winter.
