To check what fraction is equivalent to what Whole Number or Decimal
Divide the numerator by the denominator
In this case to check if 2/2 is equivalent to 1
Divide the numerator (the top number) 2 by the denominator (the bottom number)
So with 1/3, you would divide the 1 by the 3
And with 4/6, Divide the 4 by 6
1 divided by 3 is 0.33333 repeating over and over (also called a repeating fraction)
4 divided by 6 would be 0.666666 (also called a repeating fraction)
Example: 4/8 would be 4 divided by 8
You would get 0.5 or 0.50 (This is called a terminated fraction for it does not repeat)
