Mathilde always wanted more out of life. She was never happy in her own circumstances and wished for more. "She suffered ceaselessly, feeling herself born for all the delicacies and all the luxuries. She suffered from the poverty of her dwelling, from the wretched look of the walls, from the worn-out chairs, from the ugliness of the curtains." or "She had no dresses no jewels no nothing. And she loved nothing but that; she felt made for that. She would so have liked to please, to be envied, to be charming, to be sought after." Theme sentences: "What would have happened if she had not lost the necklace? Who knows? Who knows? How life is strange and changeful! How little a thing is needed for us to be lost or saved!" Mathilde's attitude changes to a more focused and hardworking attitude. The irony is she had paid 40,000 francs for a replacement necklace and the original was only worth 500 francs.  She no longer longs for more but works for it. "Mine. Loisel now knew the horrible existence of the needy."

Mathilde’s attitude is totally differ from her hush band and she was very happy in her life an want more happiness in her life .As she was born with the Silver spoon and have all the luxury of the life due to which she was fearless and careless.

The Mathilde’s is a very jealous women and ready to do anything, the hush band listen to Mathilde demand and did so much effort to complete her wishes , he love her unconditionally and also understand the feelings of her.

Due to age effects the  Mathilde’s became so week and worn out and very week that not able to recognize by her own family members and she had pay her loans which she took in replace of necklace.
