At the state fair 4 employees were paid $8.18 an hour. They worked for 10 hours at regular price and then for 3 hours at overtime price (an extra 2.18 an hour). How much money did they make total?

We know that:

Base pay = $8.18 per hour.

Overtime pay = $8.18 + $2.18 = $10.36 per hour.

4 employees working for 10 hours at base pay and 3 hours at overtime pay, each, gives us an equation:

[tex]total = 4[10(8.18) + 3(10.36)]\\total = 451.52[/tex]


They made a combined total of $451.52 at the fair.
