Tannen wrote this essay in 1993. is it outdated, or is it even more relevant today? consider her thesis in light of other cultures or ethnicities or time periods. in a country where women's choices in dress are restricted by social mores, for example, is tannen's claim applicable?

I think this essay is very relatable today and I agree with all that she said. Women have no standard set. Every style, every mannerism, every article of chlothing or accessory is unique and gives off clues about what a women is like. This is less applicable in other areas where there is a rgimen that women must follow since they can not express themselves materialisticaly.
