why do grocery stores water their plants every 10 minutes or so. what effect would air conditioning have upon the produce the store sells?

Air conditioning would dehydrate the plants and cause them to wilt, and over time becoming inedible. They water the plants in order to keep them hydrated and still fresh and healthy for consuming.
