Set up the following word problem as a proportion and solve.
A health department estimates that 12 vials of malaria serum will treat 150 people. At this rate, how many vials are required to treat 325 people? What proportion would help us to solve this?

I think the answer is 26 vials that are required to treat 325 people but I'm not sure ;-;

Respuesta :

8/100 = x/175
cross multiply
(100)(x) = (8)(175)
100x = 1400
x = 1400/100
x = 14.....so 14 vials will treat 175 people

Step-by-step explanation:

The proportion would be -

12 / 150 = x / 225.

That is, 12 per 150, x amount per 225

To solve this proportion, you can cross multiply (multiply the values diagonally)
