I don't know what choices you had, but maybe I can help if i give you some examples of human rights violations and their examples.
1) the right to live: it's violated frequently during wars, such as the conflict in Sudan and in Bosnia
2)The right to be free - there is a big problem with slavery, for example when children are forced to fight wars or when women are trafficked (both can be found in ISIS)
3)The right not to endure torture - torture is reported in many conflicts, such as in Eritrea and Darfur
