C. Dashes
Use parentheses to enclose information that clarifies something or is used as an aside.
A pair of em dashes can replace a pair of parentheses. Dashes are considered less formal than parentheses; therefore, I would use dashes in the sentence since a shopping list is not a formal piece of writing.
