In Piaget’s terms, Dakoda has developed conservation. According to Piaget's Theory of Cognitive Development conservation is a process. Dakoda has seen the different shaped glasses into which the water has been poured. She realized that the amount of water is the same before and after the changes. No water was added or taken from the original amount. This is called reversibility and is a necessary condition to acquire conservation.
