Well he was focused on creating ethical models of family and public interaction and setting educational standards. So he would view the criminal system as fair but corrupt by politicians and officials

Confucius idea were ahead of its time as it was based on morality, justice, social relationships.  

  • If Confucius get a chance to see and observe modern criminal laws and prisons he will be content with it.
  • Modern prisons are different from ancient times as prisoners were beheaded in front of citizens.
  • Criminal laws are a set of rules for people who are accused for violations.                      

Therefore we can conclude that Confucius views on criminal laws and prisons in the modern world would remain neutral.
