McCarthyism was used to describe the practices of accusing the government and its employees on different activities and methods that were done against the ruling by prosecuting them. The McCarthyism criticism were considered thread fold.
He ruined reputations of many people and government offices by false accusing then without supportive evidence against the accusations. He utilized communist to attack anybody who went against his orders. Further he had serious argument about speech because people assumed that his discussion lied on communism ideas which were dangerous to Americans.
