Answer:

Peer pressure can make people think that because their friends are doing something that it's the cool thing to do. Family members make it seem like it's ok to do even when it isn't. Idk about chapter 22 but it's whatever you think. Role models are someone you loke up to so if they do it, it's got to be the cool thing to do yet the good thing to do. Media can influence teens because everyone online says they do that kinda thing because they want to fit in. Perceptions are just that you think something is right because you see a lot of people doing it. Misleading information has to do with it because many tv shows show that it isn't bad because you aren't doing it very much.

Explanation:

There are several factors that can influence the choice of teenagers with respect to the use of drugs. They are:

  • Peer pressure
  • Family members
  • Role models
  • Media messages
  • Perceptions
  • Misleading information.

How can peer pressure and other factors influence how teenagers use drugs?

Peer Pressure:
Because teenagers are easily susceptible to suggestions, if they have low self-esteem, they can easily be persuaded to abuse drugs in order to prove that they are worth relating with.

Family members:

Family members have a huge role to play in ensuring that teenagers do not get into substance abuse. One of the ways to do that is to ensure that they are respected, and loved. This can help to build their self-esteem.

Role Models:

Just like in the first point, Role Models can either influence teenagers for or against the abuse of drugs. Many teenagers look to music stars as their role models. Unfortunately, most of the stars have issues with substance abuse.

Media Messages:
Media messages can help to dissuade teenagers from indulging in substance abuse, by highlighting the detrimental effects of drug abuse.

Perceptions and Misleading Information:

This can come from any source. Peers usually use to lure teenagers, especially those from poor homes, that drug and substance abuse is the best way out of poverty.
