Explanation:

  • Nasogastric  tube is a narrow plastic tube used for providing nourishment or sucking out toxicated abdominal fluid from body.
  • The nasogastric tube is inserted through the nose and then passed through the nasopharyngeal space into the stomach.
  • This method is used to provide nourishment fluid and medication who are unable to eat in a normal way, for example, post operative cases, comatose patient etc.
  • The Nasogastric tube is also used to suck out poison in cases of poisoning when the subject is not in senses and cannot be made to vomit.
