In plants a cell plate divides the cell wereas in any other eukaryote the cell divides via a cleavage furrow. The similarity between plants cytokinesis and binary fission is that a cell wall forms down the center of the cell resulting in the separation/formation of one cell into two.
Just so you know unlike in binary fission mitosis in plant cells specifically doesn’t separate the two cells. While two cells are made they are conjoined or connected to the other cell sharing the cell plate with them.
