1. Readiness: It is known that that night, President Ronald Reagan was going to give the State of the Union address, which, despite its importance, he put aside and immediately gave the speech encouraging the American population and the relatives of the victims.
2. Emotionality: The event was something that took the lives of seven people and affected many others, both family members and the very people of NASA, and the president was able to bring out this feeling, both in his tone and his face.
3. Hope for the future: Although it was a fact that marked space travel, the president demonstrated the courage of the American people by stating that they would continue to conduct tests and travel, giving hope about the future of American space.
4. Clear identification and praise of those involved: The president took the time to name the six astronauts and the teacher who died in the accident by name, in addition to indicating their courage and determination in tackling the mission entrusted to them.
For these reasons, Ronald Reagan's speech is one of the best and most accurate in history, allowing it to be a reference for others seen in posterity.
