a balance compares an object with a known mass to an object questioned :)

Answer:

Weighing balance

Explanation:

In chemistry, a weighing balance is used to measure the mass of an object. Usually, manufacturers provide standard masses that are used to calibrate the weighing balance, these standards serve as "stored reference" for other objects that are to be weighed on the balance. Weighing balances also have there respective "least" and "peaks" they can measure. This means that every weighing balance has it's own capacity - while some can measure as little as 0.001 g up to 300 g, some can only measure 0.1 g to 1000 g.

The sensitivity/precision of the work to be done determines the type of the balance to be used.
