There are three ways to give an object a static charge. They are friction, conduction and induction. Two pieces of cellophane
tape are stuck to a lab table. Each piece is quickly ripped off the table. A student attempts to bring the two pieces of tape together,
but the tape is attracted to her hand. So, the tape clings to her hand. Formulate a possible explanation for this.

When a tapes are stuck to table and ripped off, the tapes attain static charge. This is due to charging by friction. Due to the similar nature of the charge, the two tapes repel each other and do no stick. Instead, the tapes stick to the hand. This is due to charging by induction where in hands get polarized and the tape clings to it.
