In Lebanon, French is another official language. 40% of the Lebanese population recognize and use French as an official language while 15% partially use the language. Furthermore, 70% of the schools also use French as an official language.
French introduction to Lebanon dates to the time after World War I where Lebanon and Syria were under France Mandate leadership that lasted until 1946. French Mandate differs from colonialism that it is a leadership whereby the ruling countries agrees to give back leadership to the inhabitants after they sort out their issues or until they can stand on their own.
