When Christianity spread throughout the Roman Empire than conflict occurred between Christians and Romans. This was because Romans believed that new religion was a threat, therefore they started giving punishment to Christians. But Roman persecution didn’t stop Christianity from growing and becoming a powerful movement. There after Christians who were killed were remembered as martyrs.
