Hurricanes are huge strong ocean storms. They can bring big waves, strong wind, and heavy rain to shore. Hurricanes form over warm, tropical ocean water in summer and fall.
Wet air rises above warm oceans and wind starts to blow hard. Wind and rain form many thunderstorms. The storms come together in a spinning circle and the middle of the circle is called the eye.
They form over oceans because te temperatures of the ocean come together and combine which create these huge strong ocean storms.
