The genes which are present on the X chromosome are known as X- linked and the traits which arise due to them are known as X- linked traits. In females, both the sex chromosomes are XX. Whereas, in females, either both the alleles will have to be similar or one of the them should be dominant for a trait to occur. This is the reason why X- linked traits are more common in males.
