Features of pComb8 vector
Explanation:
The Comb8 vector is a type of a phage display plasmid or phagemid.
A phagemid is basically created by fusing the target protein to the phage particle’s surface utilizing in vitro screening techniques
Phagemids are used for studying and screening protein-peptides
The pComb8 vector phagemid:
- Belongs to category VPT 4011 which is similar to Comb3 vector except that the sequence of gene III is replaced by gene VIII sequence
- The Comb8 clones the heavy chain sequence into the Xhol/Spel restriction sites and the light chain sequences into the Sacl/Xbal restriction sites for Fab display.
- Protein VIII is naturally copied on to pComb8 for multivalent display
- Contains enough soluble protein
