Migration among many immigrants in the 19th century composed of Irish, Italians, Germans, English, and to a certain extent, Eastern European's. It created the know nothibg party in the mid 19th century led by martin van buren after seeing how americans lost their jobs for cheaper labor and domestic issues. The chinese came in massive waves through the west to help construct railroads and expansion for trains, which caused a dilemma leading to the Chinese Exclusion Act (1887). Finally the anti-semantic americans created racist terms for these immigrants like "krauts" on the germans. It created a new American Identity ready to enter the 20th century and escape the 2nd great awakening/Civil War time period.
