if both charges are doubled in magnitude what will be the new force in terms of F?

can you please explain this step by step please!!!

Answer:

The force will be doubled.

Explanation:

Just looking at the situation,

We are supposing the distance in between these charges is the same in both the cases which is r, so for the first normal case,

[tex]F_1=q_1q_2/r^2[/tex], q1, q2 are the two charges and r is the distance between them.

Now take the other case when the the Charges are doubled,

[tex]F_2=2(q_1q_2)/r^2\\F_2=2(F_1)[/tex]

you can see clearly from the above equation that the new force which is [tex]F_2[/tex] has been doubled.

I hope it helps,

Thank you.
